Meltdown
I really do like this pictures because it's life!
Jackson's eyes say, "Help me!"

Those are some other pictures from the photoshoot.
You'll notice, Jackson was on a meltdown, but I LOVE IT!
Yesterday he said, "Aben" at the end of the prayer. And "oh, no" on the Slippery Fish song and in a chant we learned from my sis he intoned the sound and actions: I've been looking for my friends, I've been lookin for yoooooouuuuu!" He hummed it, and then pointed. Oh he's so cute.
Colby's tutoring job starts tomorrow. We all got burned yesterday. Apparently the sunscreen applied to my back deactivates when you go in the sun because my back is a lobster as is Colby's forehead and Jackson's tummy between his diaper line (when I applied the sunscreen) and his swimsuit. Sam was the only one smart enough to stay out of the sun!
We are burning for some Pixar lovin' and can't wait to see TOY STORY 3!
Jackson's current favorite books are:
and
Which is a FANTASTIC coffee table book.Just finished:

And loved it! I was slightly bothered by the fact that it was Harlequin Teen, not because it had anything in it, but just the fact that I'm reading a "Harlequin" book and I didn't mean to. I've read a Harlequin before based on the recommendation of my mother. I knew there were different Harlequins and my curiosity was piqued. Doing my research, there are several different lines of Harlequin: Harlequin Passion, Harlequin Etiquette, Silhouette Historical... All of the different lines have different levels of "sexy" to them. The Etiquette series is like Jane Austen. There was a fantastic series that caught my attention: Did you know they have a NASCAR Harlequin series?

And introducing my new favorite book:
LOVE IT! It's soooo fantastic! A good creepy story like Coraline or...I can't think right now, but SO good!

Photos!!!
Occasionally, I post a few items from different websites announcing different giveaways and contests in order to enter my name another time in the raffle. The first one I tried this on, Patchwork Photos, was the only contest I've actually won.
Memorial Day weekend, we took a trip up the Utah. We stayed with Ben and Shelley Onofrio, who were nice enough to even assemble their baby's crib and let Jackson sleep in it! (THANK YOU ONOFRIOS!) Sam camped out on the couch. One of my favorite memories of that trip is the Euchre game Shelley and I played against Ben and Colby. We only played a couple of games and by the end of the night, the score stood at 1-1, but I don't think I've ever had so much fun playing as I did those two games! Seriously, thank you Shelley and Ben for your hospitality and the fun memories!
We also visited my sister, her hubby and her kiddo, Logan (who I succeeded in making him cry (thrice), he's so cute.
These are just a few of the photos I could post from our recent trip out to UT. We had so much fun! I'll put up a few of the others when I actually get the disc of pictures. These are the ones from Stephanie's website. There are pictures with all four of us, but Jackson is on a complete meltdown. He wasn't happy and mostly tired.

Updates

Jackson has now discovered the toilet and that he can flush things down it. So far, we've only lost one roll of TP, a pack of gum and now my slippers.
Jackson has definitely gotten more curious and will now pull stuff out of corners, like our cookie sheets, and bang them together, or on the fridge, or against the oven. He really likes banging them against the oven because they get a clanging sound. He'll raise them high above his head and will bring it down with two hands. He's also started stabbing the TV with a pencil, has officially given up bottles and soothers (mostly on his own), is a little scared of being tossed in the air, seems to be pretty shy of strangers for about 2 minutes.
I painted a couple of watercolor pictures for Jackson of Nemo and Dory (one of his favorite movies) and hung them up in the bathroom, easily visible from the bathtub. He saw me hanging them up and the smile that broke out on his face when he saw them was worth all the effort. He watched them, propped up on his elbows in the tub for several minutes with a huge grin on his face. I love that kid!

Jackson is in the 90th percentile for height and weight. He's 33 lbs and 36.5 inches. He's a big kid.

Sam snorts A LOT. Especially when he's crying. He's been sleeping really well through the night, although I still need the occasional supernap. Colby, being out of school, allowed me a super-nap today and it was awesome!
Sam also likes to look around at lights, the picture above our sofa and doesn't like to cuddle. I think Emily can relate! (He's also not a big fan of being swaddled or his soother-what am I to do?)
Sam also was weighed and measure and the WIC peeps said he was too fat and I should feed him less. He only weighs 13 lbs and is 22.5 inches long. He's in the 50-75 for weight and only the 25 for height. I disagree with the WIC people. They are dumb. Can a 2 mo old really be too fat? Really. Anyway, here's some pics!

I love you more than my toys
Colby had been at school all this morning and I had appointments and errands to run. Colby volunteered to take Jackson to school and I took Sam. I met Colby at school and Jackson was walking next to his daddy. We were about 30 feet apart from each other. I called to Jackson and as soon as he saw me, his smile lit up his face, he ran to me; when he got to me, he put down the car he was holding and raised his arms for a big hug. He clearly loves me more than his toys!
